Coobird's Blocks is a Breakout-like game written in Java. The game applet can be played at coobird.net.
Coobird's Blocks is open source software. It is licensed under the modified BSD license. The source code and executables are available to download for free. The current release is version 0.2 (May 8, 2008).
This is a complete rewrite of an earlier version which was lost due to a hard drive crash a couple years ago. The original version was written as a Java applet, where this new version is designed with making an applet and an application version.
The underlying design philosophy of Coobird's Blocks is to have many of the elements of the game generate itself programmatically, a "tradition" that is being passed on from the previous version.
